Aha! You've nailed a critical element. You've identified the distinction that I've been struggling with as to how to distinguish the critical element of "Design Thinking" from the more creative aspects associated with art/design.

This also reinforces the message I've been recently spouting about the need to focus on synthesis rather than analysis. Synthesizers are more naturally curious -- they are on a mission to find new relationships -- they trive on finding connections.

An excellent point - where's the last organization you felt comfortable reading a back at your desk?

Right on! I think one of the biggest challenges is creating a culture where time is given for curiosity. So many people go to work and just do do do. People are so focused on their tasks they don't take time out to be curious. If we don't create organizations that allow for curiosity as you said creativity will not grow.
