This is the big box vs manufacture dilemma. Each will have their own formula for their proprietary rating system. There will be a growing need to explain these systems online and gather individuals within communities to discuss and rate their performance.

However, the number of farmers continues to drop even as there are more farmers markets (with both trends opposite for the past 25 years).  Also the number of farmers is distorted a bit by the number of new farmers (many of whom get in for a few years and then get out) while we continue to lose family, generations of farmers.</description>
