What your theory fails to recognize is that raising the retirement age may solve some of the issues with social security/medicare, but it will also raise the unemployment rate of young fathers and mothers. Coorporations do not have endless pockets to hire new labor. At some point, someone needs to do a study to determine what is better for the economy, a 24yr old father being employed or a 67 yr old man with health issues. It is much more complex than thinking that working from home or from remote offices will solve the problem.

Great post, Joe.

I've wondered the same thing many times, and more often recently as I have been reading various reports of scientific analysis suggesting the brain gets better, with age, at recognizing patterns and addressing problems and issues with experience and practice at thinking, etc.
