Enterprise 2.0 Case Studies at Cases 2.0

by Bill Ives

I found out about this Enterprise 2.0 case study repository through Chris McGrath at Thought Farmer that has a case, Intrawest. It was started by a suggestion from Andrew McAfee at the Enterprise 2.0 conference in 2007. As Andrew writes on his blog, in post, The Enterprise 2.0 Repository, he “proposed the creation of a repository of enterprise 2.0 case studies that would itself adhere to E2.0 best practices — it would be freely editable and extensible, and have an emergent rather than an imposed structure.” Social Text volunteered to host it. There were only 19 case studies when I looked. If you would like to enter a new case study go to the site. They appear open and they write “Be bold; we want many kinds of contribution and contributor, Be helpful and respectful, Please disclose the source(s) of materials included here.”

This needs more attention. Show them some love and send in your case studies. Here is my more modest collection from interviews on this blog, Enterprise 2.0 Success Stories from 2007. Now they mostly appear on the AppGap blog.

Another resource that has just launched is the Headshift Casefiles Wiki. I think there are about 60 case studies on it from various sources.

Bill,

These case studies are interesting. We are doing some research about enterprise 2.0 and social networking for the enterprise — how to get started, what is the business case? We’d like to interview you as an expert on this topic. What’s the best way to do that?
