Excellent post. I think that relationships are a much more useful and flexible currency than money, cash. Love (relationships) is truly the most powerful currency. The stuff that’s most important to our lives can’t be bought, it can only be earned.

Thank you for this excellent post. And this to me is the "upside" to the current crisis we find ourselves in: that collectively we are brought to the point of having to look carefully and deeply at how we have created this situation, and what action we can take to find a way forward. I read another very good article at the weekend looking at the true meaning and origins of credit which was described as "mutuality", and in essence having everything to do with our relationships and working together. It is as though we have become better and better at generating wealth through being ever more ingenious and productive and yet at the very point of having succeeded in this, that very wealth has become "trapped" by our own collective shortcomings (greed, apathy, giving away our power) instead of freeing us to move beyond this point.

Very interesting Rob thanks. I had been thinking about that as we built CREOPoint.com, an online meeting place for the commercial real estate industry. I would like to be part of the solution, check creopoint.com and feel free to participate in some of the discussions, including on the "global financial crisis" group. Best, Jean-Claude
