Great article! Thanks for sharing so deeply.

With all the tools and collaborative power we possess, you'd think we could finally begin to set the wheels in motion to subdue a greater number of wolves. It probably has more to do with our resolve and confidence than any true contest of intellectual capacity. Deep down, wolves just aint that bright - as a rule.

Love to talk more with you about some recent work I'm doing to help us do more collaboration, supported by the right amount of compensation. If it's a self sustaining social business model, we should be able to set up initiatives that become stronger and stronger over time. Europe is probably the ripest marketplace of free thinkers and probably the best place to join and influence the movements happening there. Lots of baskets to share!

In re: Rotkapchen
I have to admit that I was at first, distracted by your Twitter handle. Now I totally get it, but for people unfamiliar with the term, it becomes a challenging label, and experience. Maybe a handle like: FOREHEAD-SLAPPING-MOMENTS would work better? ; ) No, I won't charge you any Web 3.0 consultant fees for that free advice.

Cheers!

Definitely Rotkapchen ... that Mein Got! moment says it all. 1964 was huge for me, too, though it took years to realize it. It was Grade 4 for me and unlike the fabulous Mrs. Filak the year prior, I had a teacher who helped taught me more 'isms than a child should be exposed to. There was sexism, racism, classism and, I later learned, phobism of many sorts.

That's why I’m also far more likely to chase the experience, to share the discovery of something beyond what might be dismissed as mundane, to resist the mediocrity of "best practice" to chase meaningful engageement...fulfillment! That's why I'm glad to run acorss you, Rotkarchen.

All the best for a great 2010!

Yes we are wandering in the forest of social media too. A nice post and a wonderful story of coming of age in the E2 dawn. At the heights of our powers we are now ready to deal with the changes and provide insight and wit on some of what we see.
@jmacofearth - thanks for the comments
