FASTforward’09 Interview: Kirsti Kierulf, Director, The Fast Innovation Center and Director, Innovation, Technology, and Learning, Accenture

by Joshua-Michéle Ross

Kirsti has a broad mandate in her dual role as director of the Fast Innovation Center and director of innovation, technology and learning. Yet as Kirsti tells it in this interview it makes perfect sense – each of these is inseparably linked; the enabling layers of technology which affect innovation (and vice versa) and the perennial issue of driving innovation in the organization through constant learning.

BIO: Kirsti Kierulf is the lead on the Fast Innovation Center at Accenture and works with large clients around the world to support their businesses in utilizing search and other disruptive technologies. Her responsibilities also include running large innovation programs as well as working closely with the academic partners of Accenture in the Nordic region. A popular speaker on topics of innovation, technology and knowledge, Ms. Kierulf has worked on the industry for more than 20 years as a CEO of her own companies or in leading positions in larger companies. She also holds a number of board positions in technology companies, and has an expert profile in disruptive technologies and business models.

Thanks for the video Josh. It’s a funny story that she tried to get managers to create avatars. I think its amazing how Accenture have such a huge team just for creating/developing/implementing innovative technology in their business.

Thanks again,
-Ben
