These are some great interviews with truly knowledgable people in the Search industry. I thought it was interesting how Christian was describing social computing as related to breaking down the corporate hierarchy. I see a lot of what you described every day at my company - I work as a chemical engineer for Henkel Corporation, an electronics adhesives manufacturer. It is impossible to know every aspect of the industry, and you really have to know who to talk to for the best information.

They say the 80s were technology-driven, 90s were customer-driven, and now everything is application-driven (provided via internet). However, there still seems to be a disconnect between the applications and how people use them. It seems the software / application designers really need to thoroughly research and obtain user feedback on how we, the consumer, want to use their programs.
