In my way of thinking about it, social calibration entails how well a company’s culture supports the challenge of transforming business practices to incorporate social relationships into its value proposition to customers and other stakeholders.

The hivemind concept though involves the capability of people in a company to “proactively” collaborate with one another and stakeholders.

Great post Jon – couldn’t agree more with your point [in this post as well as the others you mentioned here] about how much Social Business Design will need to leverage many fields that have been in existence for a long time. OD, KM, Org Lrng, LD, systems thinking, SNA, VNA – the list goes on and on.

I appreciate you acknowledging this as I seldom see it done – as you stated the tech component is really just an enabler to what these fields have been touting for a long time.
